Sustainability: a shared mission
The idea of SEDS (Sustainable Energy Distribution System) originated with Eric Severyns, EPB reporter for ESTA Advies. During his analyses, he encountered the same problem in every large residential unit: collective heating systems with high temperatures and many distribution losses.
An energy-neutral solution is essential
Currently, residential buildings are responsible for no less than 47% of our total CO₂ emissions. If we want to ensure the living comfort of not only these, but also future generations, an energy-neutral solution is therefore essential.
A CO₂-neutral solution did not yet exist. So Severyns started looking for partners to develop one himself. B&R Bouwgroep, O3 SHIFT and Esta Advies were enthusiastic and immediately jumped on the bandwagon.
A total solution
Sustainability is not a competitive battle, but a joint mission
The three construction groups themselves are already strongly committed to innovative green techniques. However, the energy consumption of collective homes remained a pain point. So they joined forces in search of a total solution.
Smart system
A future proof system
After much research and experimentation, SEDS came about. A future proof system that provides collective housing units with sanitary facilities, hot water and seasonal comfort temperature in an energy-efficient way.
